Domestic Workers increase: 5% and National Minimum Wage
As of 01 January 2019, the minimum wage for domestic workers is:
Minimum wage for Domestic Workers working MORE than 27 ordinary hours per week in Metropolitan Areas:
- Hourly Rate R13.69
- Weekly Rate R616.03
- Monthly Rate R2 669.24
Minimum Wage for Domestic Workers working LESS than 27 ordinary hours per week in Metropolitan Areas:
- Hourly Rate R16.03
- Weekly Rate R432.78
- Monthly Rate R1 875.22
If your domestic is already earning above the minimum, the increase is 5% based on the actual wage paid to the domestic worker. [Read More…]
